Chinchilla Facts: Males= 400-500 grams, Females= 400-600 grams. Life span is 10 years but they can live up to 20 years. When they are born they weight about 35 grams. Chinchilla's came from South America (Andes Mountains). Their name "Chinchilla" Comes from a South American Indian tribe it means "Little Chinta". They breed twice a year. Chinchilla's are nocturnal, They sleep durning the day and come out at night. Chinchilla behavior: Chinchilla's just like to fit in, for example if they migrate to a new surrounding without knowing anybody and try to fit in. When Chinchilla's migrate to a new home, they feel scared and threathen, dont rush them, they need to get used to get used to their new enviroment. Never put your Chinchilla in the same enviroment as your other pets, put him or her in a quiet peaceful place.
